History

Established in 2004, IAS is a leading specialist administrator of Managed Accounts in Australia. As a licensed operator of Managed Discretionary Accounts services, IAS provides investment administration and associated services for investment managers and dealer groups with both wholesale and retail client bases.

IAS offers clients a superior technology solution through a combination of in-house Australian-based software development and best-of-breed software from external vendors.

Colin Scully
Chairman
Colin has over 25 years in the financial services industry. He co-founded Bridges Financial Services Pty Ltd and established one of the first platforms (TPS) for portfolio management. Colin was a former director of the Financial Planning Association, a director of IWL Ltd and is a director of a number of private companies.

Don Sharp
Director, Chief Executive Officer
Don is a highly experienced and respected business leader in the financial services sector. He co-founded Bridges Financial Services Pty Ltd and established one of the first platforms (TPS) for portfolio management. Don was a former Chairman of Investors Mutual Limited, GVI and Premium Investors Limited and a director of Treasury Group.

Paul Collins
Director
Paul has over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry in Australia, primarily in software development, operational and relationship management roles. This includes being a founding Director of IWL Ltd (ASX:IWL).

Paul has been a Director of IAS since 2004 and played a major role in establishing the technological direction of the company. He is also Chairman of the Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee.

Phillip Thomas
Group General Manager
Phillip has over 15 years financial markets/services experience and over 20 years of experience in a range of technology and management roles. Prior to joining IAS Phillip was Executive General Manager of Advisory Software Solutions Strategy at IWL Limited. He has also held senior technology appointments with IDS Australia Pty Ltd, Misys plc and Sydney Futures Exchange Limited.

Phillip joined IAS in June 2007 as Chief Technology Officer and in May 2009 was appointed General Manager for the IAS Group. He is responsible for all facets of the business, which includes distribution, operations, information technology and finance.

He holds a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Computer Science, Graduate Diplomas in Applied Finance & Investment and Financial Planning and Diplomas in Technical Analysis, Mortgage Broking Management and Company Directorship. He is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

David Heather
Head of Distribution
David is a recognised specialist in the managed accounts field and has over 20 years experience in the Australian financial services industry.

David has also held senior roles at Permanent Trustee and Trust Company in Custody, Operations, Information Technology, Investment Administration and Managed Accounts. These roles have included responsibility for sales, product development, defining operational and technology strategies and implementing change. David has extensive experience in the administration of listed investments, managed accounts, sales and relationship management.

In 2005 David was appointed Head of Distribution at Aegis where he was responsible for building a model portfolio business and distributing research to financial planning groups and broking firms.

David joined IAS as the Head of Distribution in March 2008. In his current role, David assists advisers, financial planning groups and broking firms with the integration of managed accounts into their existing business models.

Neil Pattinson
Head of Operations
Neil has 10 years of experience in the financial services industry, in both Custodial and fund manager operations. Responsibilities have included trade settlements for domestic and international securities, product development, strategic planning, and relationship management.

Neil was Head of Registry at Credit Suisse Asset Management (Australia) Ltd, and Manager of Settlements at Trust Company.

As Head of Operations at IAS, Neil is responsible for the management of operations including trade settlements, corporate actions, payment processing, and manages business relationships with IAS sub-custodians, brokers, and system providers.

Jitka Pojslova
Corporate Accountant
Jitka has over 11 years of experience in the financial industry in Europe and Australia. Jitka commenced her career as a financial analyst. She then spent six years at ING where she was appointed Manager of Shared Financial Services for the Czech Republic and Slovakia. In 2006 she was a key member of a team establishing new insurance company Direct Insurance, owned by British financial group RSA. In 2007, she was appointed Finance Manager at Direct Insurance and was responsible for financial management and reporting.

As Corporate Accountant at IAS, Jitka is managing the finance and reconciliations departments.

IAS is licensed to provide incidental custody services to clients. IAS has appointed HSBC Bank Australia Limited (HSBC) as sub-custodian of the Managed Accounts.

HSBC has been providing custody services in Australia since 1991. Service quality in Australia has been widely recognised by the Global Custodian’s Review of Agent Banks being awarded "Top Rated - Domestic" status in 2009.

As at June 20091 HSBC holds a total sub-custody market share of over 59% of the Australian assets under custody for foreign clients. In addition, HSBC processes over 32% of the total number of custody settlement transactions and is the largest SWIFT user in Australia.
